As an adult educator, I met a different group of people at least weekly sometimes daily. Creatives have a way of seeing each other, and I have a little box of treasures with similar stories to this one. A participant on day 2 of a course came in with a photo of these home-grown roses, proudly told me their story, and then said “you can keep the photo”. What else was I to do but draw them on the flight home? My own little square of peace on a tray table that kept me company on a long trip home.
