“Wave Riders” – A Dance Beneath the Surface

I learned this texturing technique at a workshop by Lyn Buchart.  Even though it takes an extra day to prepare the paper before painting and the work takes forever to dry it is always worth the effort.    I love all things with feathers and fins.  Watercolour always lends itself well to watery topics.  The complementary colours of orange and blue always look great together.  This painting won “first prize, emotional content” in one exhibition, and another prize at the “Dayborough Day” emerging artist exhibition.    It is now my “go to” method for a great result to get started if I haven’t painted for a while.
